So anyone who knows me knows I have a lip product addiction. And when I learned about EOS lip balm I refused to buy into to it; for one I had no need for any more lip products. But the other day while at Ulta picking out some dry shampoo and some “Not Your Mother’s” hair line products (a post for another day) they had some at the impulse checkout line bins and I succumbed to the temptation of the cute design and grabbed one for their Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in Pomegranate Raspberry. I’m not sure what I expected but it was not what I got. I had read reviews how it smells great, it’s healing, long lasting, and soothing, so I thought it sounded perfect something I’d love.
Well as soon as I got in the car I ripped open the package so I could give it a try. And it was like putting wax all over my lips and I don’t mean that in a good way. Though putting wax on your lips I guess would never be a good thing. It wasn’t long lasting at all, though it did smell good, I felt the need to reply every 30 minutes. I ended up waxing my lips about four times that first night and I woke up the next morning with gooey dehydrated and super dry lips, I have no idea how else to explain it. The one thing I like about it was the packaging and it’s whimsical design. It makes applying super easy, fun and lets everyone know you are using an EOS lip balm. The sad thing for me is I’ll still use it since I like the shape I enjoy putting it on but I hate the effects of it so I either toss it or continue to use it.
If you haven’t broken down to give it’s whimsical design a try don’t; it’s a waste of $3.50 in my not so humble opinion.
