Things I’m currently in love with in no particular order:

Arnica gel a few years ago one of my trainers suggested I use arnica gel on my knees after working out for my arthritis; finally a few months ago I picked some up and am kicking myself for not buying it sooner the stuff is amazing and it also works on burns.

My new XFINITY cable box/DVR that operates on the new “X1 Entertainment Operating System™” I can record 4 shows at once! And it’s so much easier to navigate and use though it is contributing greatly to my couch potato status.  I typically have nothing nice to say about Comcast but I like this, at least today I do.

Arnold Palmers, I love ice tea and recently fell in love with lemonade and Arnold Palmer’s have become my drink of choice, well behind my beloved Diet Coke that is.  The funny thing is in high school I loved my dad’s Arnold Palmer cardigans and stole them all from him.  Apparently I like things associated with old golfers.

San Diego brunches, since they are all new to me I love them and want to put them ALL.IN.MY.MOUTH.NOW.  I wasn’t a big brunch fan until I moved to Seattle and discovering all the great brunches in San Diego has been delicious.  If you’re in San Diego feel free to leave me your favorite brunch spot in the comments.  Some of my favorites so far are: Hash House A Go Go, Tractor Room, Great Maple, Snooze AM Eatery, R Gang Eatery, Waypoint Public

The fact that Fall is just around the corner!  I heart Fall so hard!  The weather is cooler, there are less people driving and parking on my street, the sunsets are earlier, the leaves change colors, its perfect soup making weather, burning candles is appropriate, wrapping up in a blanket on the couch is acceptable, wearing all kinds of layers is necessary, the list goes on and on, it just makes me happy.

Tacos, while I was in San Diego and now that I’m back in Seattle all I want are tacos, tacos and more tacos.  They are just tasty little treats that I want to “poner en mi boca.”

The book Where’d You Go Bernadette?  This was a great airplane book, light, funny and it was based in Seattle with some Antarctica thrown in.

bareSkin® Pure Brightening Serum Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 by bareMinerals for years and I mean years I used liquid foundations, I had my own blend made for me by Prescriptives that I loved but once Nordstrom stopped carrying the Prescriptive line I had to find something new.  I tried many different brands and formulas and hated them all until one day I discovered bareMinerals I was reluctant to do the whole powder thing but ended up loving it and using it for the past 5/6 years and thought I’d never go back to liquid.  I recently tried their new bareSkin liquid foundation and fell in love with liquid foundation all over again, the stuff is amazing, very light weight and provides just the right amount of coverage I’m looking for.  I LOVE.LOVE.LOVE it.

LORAC ‘Unzipped’ Shimmer & Matte Eyeshadow Palette I had some Nordstrom rewards to use up and decided to splurge on this eye shadow palette and OMG I’m glad I did, it’s beautiful.   Every shade is usable and the pigmentation is insane.  And even if I don’t use a primer they stay and don’t crease, when traveling it will be the only eye shadows I bring with me.

My Sonicare Essence Rechargeable sonic toothbrush and my Clarasonic Mia 2 when I travel I don’t take either of these with me, I’d rather save the ‘weight’ of them for another pair of shoes or more clothes.  So when I come home after being gone for 2 or 3 weeks it’s like a spa treatment to my teeth and my face and I fall in love with them all over again.

LUSH Seanik solid shampoo bar, I’m always looking for new hair products and now that I don’t wash my hair everyday anymore, yay for dry shampoo, I wanted something different than what I was using before to get my hair squeaky clean on the days I washed it.  This Seanik did the trip, squeaky clean without drying, striping and no conditioner needed, thanks to the shampoo and my Wet Brush and to top it off it is super easy to travel with no size limit since it’s not a liquid!

New underwear I have a habit of putting my thumbnail through my underwear, weird I know but it happens and about 50% of my underwear all had thumb holes on their sides so I recently purchased some replacements and there’s nothing better than putting on a new clean pair of panties that have no little thumb holes in them.

The fact that MAC will be at the 32nd Street Navy Exchange the next time I’m in San Diego!  I’ve been holding out on repurchasing a few items I’m running low on because I know I can get it there for cheaper, well basically free because I can get my dad to buy it for me than forget to pay him back because I’m still a spoiled daddy’s girl at my age.

I’m gonna wash that man right outa my hair, And send him on his way

Back in 2009 I was introduced to the concept of dry shampoo, was told how awesome and amazing it is and I thought why not give it a try so I did.  I bought Tresemme Fresh Start and let it sit on my bathroom counter for a month before giving it a try.  OMG it was awful, just like spraying smelly, gross, white cement in my hair.  And I couldn’t understand everyone’s love for it.  A few years later more people raving about dry shampoo and I thought really who likes putting wet cement in their hair?  But one day while at Aveda get some toner I saw their dry shampoo and picked that up.  Again I didn’t like it, theirs felt more like wet sand in my hair I wasn’t a fan.  Than this past November I started watching beauty you tube channels and hearing how great dry shampoo is. So I started researching them again and watching how to videos on using it and learned Batiste was the brand to try.

I went on a search for Batiste dry shampoo I read it could be found at drugstores and Target but I never found it.  Then I watched an Ulta ‘haul’ video and saw someone picked some up there so the next time I was in Southcenter I stopped in and picked up their Deep & Dark Brown dry shampoo.

I waited a week to give it a try, see I’m that girl who shampoos and conditioners her hair EVERY SINGLE DAY I’m not one who would go a day without washing it, the thought just grossed me out. The first time I used it was a day I didn’t wash my hair that morning.  I re-watched YouTube video’s, I wanted to make sure I did it right and guess what I did.  It actually looked clean and as a BONUS it gave my hair some volume and it didn’t look dirty it looked clean.    I liked the smell it was a sweet fresh powder smell to it that lasted all day.

After using it for over a month now I found out it works best on real dirty hair, hair that has hair spray or product in it the day before and that I’ve used dry shampoo the day before.  This is a new phenomenon to me not washing my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY as well as having volume and body.  I’m on a quarter of the way through my second can and I plan on making it a part of my hair routine.

I no longer fear or hate dry shampoo’s thanks to YouTube and Batiste dry shampoo!

So anyone who knows me knows I have a lip product addiction.  And when I learned about EOS lip balm I refused to buy into to it; for one I had no need for any more lip products.  But the other day while at Ulta picking out some dry shampoo and some “Not Your Mother’s” hair line products (a post for another day) they had some at the impulse checkout line bins and I succumbed to the temptation of the cute design and grabbed one for their Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in Pomegranate Raspberry.   I’m not sure what I expected but it was not what I got.  I had read reviews how it smells great, it’s healing, long lasting, and soothing, so I thought it sounded perfect something I’d love.

Well as soon as I got in the car I ripped open the package so I could give it a try.  And it was like putting wax all over my lips and I don’t mean that in a good way.  Though putting wax on your lips I guess would never be a good thing.  It wasn’t long lasting at all, though it did smell good, I felt the need to reply every 30 minutes.  I ended up waxing my lips about four times that first night and I woke up the next morning with gooey dehydrated and super dry lips, I have no idea how else to explain it.  The one thing I like about it was the packaging and it’s whimsical design.  It makes applying super easy, fun and lets everyone know you are using an EOS lip balm.  The sad thing for me is I’ll still use it since I like the shape I enjoy putting it on but I hate the effects of it so I either toss it or continue to use it.

If you haven’t broken down to give it’s whimsical design a try don’t; it’s a waste of $3.50 in my not so humble opinion.
